Bulk liquid nitrogen means an external tank, usually owned by the gas supplier, refilled by road tanker and piped to the point of use. Per litre it is the cheapest nitrogen you will buy. That is not the same as the cheapest arrangement for your laboratory.
What bulk actually requires
Consumption high and steady enough that tanker visits and vacuum insulated pipework beat a stream of dewar deliveries, plus a site that can take a tank pad with tanker access. It also extends oxygen monitoring into every area the pipework reaches, and it concentrates your supply into a single point of failure.
Where most IVF clinics actually sit
Below the threshold. A handful of storage vessels plus bench use is met more flexibly by delivered dewars, or by an on site self pressurising vessel refilled by the gas supplier.
How to decide rather than guess
Twelve months of logged fills across every vessel gives an honest consumption figure. Quote bulk against current delivery cost on that same basis, and include pipework, the extra monitoring, and what happens on the day the tanker cannot get in.
The vessels themselves do not change either way. A CryoNest® XXXL at 175 litres fills the same from a bulk line or a supply dewar; only the equipment upstream differs.
