The four visotube shapes  round, triangular, hexagonal, and polygonal differ primarily in how densely they pack inside a CBS goblet or canister, and therefore how many samples you can store per canister. All are made from transparent material rated for liquid nitrogen temperatures, and all are compatible with the CBS high-security straw system.

Round visotubes are the original and most universally compatible format. They work with both CBS Classic Goblets and as standalone holders in standard cryocane slots. They are the safest choice if you are unsure about goblet compatibility.

Triangular visotubes are designed for use inside CBS Daisy Goblets. Because of their shape, eleven triangular visotubes fit around one round visotube in the centre of a single Daisy Goblet, giving twelve positions per goblet. This is the most efficient configuration for IVF embryo and oocyte storage.

Hexagonal visotubes offer a different packing geometry the six-sided shape allows a different arrangement inside specialised canisters and goblets, suited to labs that have standardised on the hexagonal CBS system.

Polygonal visotubes offer similar density advantages to hexagonal designs and are suitable for high-volume storage configurations.

For most UK IVF laboratories, the CBS Daisy Goblet system with triangular visotubes is the most practical choice. Cryolab supplies the complete CBS visotube range.
