As an upper bound under ideal conditions, not as a planning figure.

What the Figure Assumes

Published hold times are measured upright, unopened, at moderate ambient temperature. That is a legitimate laboratory measurement describing a journey nobody makes.

What a Real Shipment Does to It

Orientation changes in transit. Ambient varies considerably in a cargo hold or on an apron in summer. Customs holds happen without notice. Every opening costs hold time that is not recoverable. Plan against the delay you have not anticipated rather than the journey you have.

The Question to Ask

Ask what conditions the figure was measured under. Where a supplier will not state them, the number is not usable for planning. Size on samples, format and journey length rather than the largest unit the budget allows, because a larger shipper is heavier to handle and costs more to ship. Capacities from 2 to 10 litres are listed across the CryoStork range, with the decision framework in dry shipper hire or purchase.
