Technically yes, and for a clinical store it is rarely the right answer.
The unit price at a depot is the lowest available. That advantage disappears once staff time, vehicle arrangements and the transport risk assessment are counted, and it disappears entirely the first time a collection cannot happen because the person who does it is away.
Transporting cryogenic liquid in a vehicle brings its own controls: the vessel secured and upright, adequate ventilation in the vehicle, never in an enclosed passenger space, and a documented procedure rather than an informal habit. One litre of liquid nitrogen becomes roughly 683 litres of gas, which is why a sealed car boot is the specific hazard here.
Self collect suits small, infrequent requirements. A store holding irreplaceable material should not depend on it.
