Every cryogenic supplier in the UK advertises next day delivery. Almost none of them mean it for every line, and the gap is where a laboratory runs out of high security straws on a Friday.

The three sourcing routes

Direct from a manufacturer, which realistically only works for very large installations. From a general laboratory catalogue, which is fine for gloves and poor for anything that has to fit something else. Or from a specialist cryogenic supplier holding the vessels, shippers and the consumables that go inside them.

Why the specialist route matters for IVF

The consumables are not generic. Straws, visotubes, goblets and vitrification devices have to match each other and the vessel’s canisters. A supplier carrying the whole system can tell you what fits before you order rather than after.

Questions worth asking any UK supplier

  • Which lines are UK stock for next day, and which are imported to order? Per item, in writing.
  • Is the business certified to a quality management standard? Cryolab holds ISO 9001:2015 through BSI.
  • Can Certificates of Analysis be provided where traceability is required? Cryolab supplies these for customers in Ireland where needed.
  • Who services vessels after sale?

Cryolab has been based on the South Coast of England since 2000, supplying NHS and private hospitals, IVF clinics and research facilities in the UK and internationally. To check current stock on a specific line, ask the team directly.
