The differences that matter in the cryogenic tanks market do not show up in the first year. Compare on five points.

Static evaporation rate

In litres per day, and the conditions it was measured under. This is your nitrogen bill for the life of the vessel, and it is the number most often absent from a quotation.

Neck diameter relative to capacity

A wide neck makes rack access easy and raises evaporation. Neither is wrong. It depends how often the lid comes off.

Vacuum warranty, and what follows it

The CryoBank 1800-95 is listed with five years on the vacuum and two on parts, alongside a 635 mm neck and a 300 litre vapour platform charge. Ask whether re-evacuation is offered afterwards.

Organisation system

Confirm your existing racks, canisters, goblets and canes fit. A vessel that forces a change of straw format costs far more than the saving.

Monitoring output

Does it have, or accept, a remote alarm? ESHRE’s 2026 recommendations expect continuous monitoring with logging.

What matters less than it looks

Brochure hold times measured on an unopened vessel in a cool room, and capacities quoted in vials when you store straws.
